Makes pictures with patience and a love of northern light.
Independent by design. Working between the commissioned and the personal, between a brief and the image that no one knew to ask for.
Halcyon Frame began in a borrowed room near Brick Lane, with one camera, a table for edits, and a belief that useful photographs can also be quietly beautiful.
Today we make editorial stories, campaigns, portraits and films for cultural institutions, independent brands and established publications. We still build the crew to fit the idea, not the other way around.
The studio opens in East London, focused on portraits and independent editorial.
Architecture and still-life commissions become part of the practice.
Smaller crews and natural-light production define a more deliberate approach.
A close collaboration with film directors adds moving image to the offering.
The studio now works throughout the UK and Europe from its Brick Lane base.
Taking time is a production choice, not a lack of urgency.
We begin with the light a place already has.
Good commissions are conversations, never performances.
The crop, edit, print and delivery matter as much as the shutter.
Makes pictures with patience and a love of northern light.
Keeps ambitious projects human-sized and on time.
An exacting eye for colour, texture and subtle finishing.
Finds the story between one still frame and the next.
